Interestingly, ACK software controls have announced a new board for the A1200 (and possibly one for the 3000/4000) with an 800Mhz PowerPC chip. This is eliminated once OS4 is running since the 68k is never used once it has booted). Certainly performance is a lot better than running OS3.9 + WarpOS, since the PowerPC runs 68k software a lot faster than the real 68k on the board, and PPC apps no longer suffer from "context switch" slowdowns (when 68k and PPC programs need to share data, they have to both flush their caches which causes slowdown. Īs for OS4's performance on the CSPPC, you will find that some things will run a bit slowly, but overall it runs very nicely indeed, especially with a CVPPC graphics card. ![]() Again, not really surprising considering the source. But that shouldn't be any surprise.Īlso, OS4 does *not* run on a PowerMac. ![]() ![]() His claims of getting OS4 are nothing more than complete, total, and utter bullcrap.
